Diary Entry for 9th September 2007
Hi from Siminoc It is a change of reports this week as Jacquie left at 5 am on Sunday for the UK. As you know she will be looking after Mum for a bit and then home to Chandlers Ford for out and about doing presentations for you. They arrived to install our Digi TV dish today so we now have 62 stations most in Romanian but some English, CNN and a few more just in time for the Rugby World Cup that starts this week and the F1 Motor Racing on a Sunday. Monday
Well the new staff all arrived on time and I explained the work to them and they started so I went in for a coffee (I don't keep dogs and bark myself) as they say. We are having to feed the baby pigs by hand as mum did not make it, I think it was due to all the problems we had early this year, but the 4 babes we have left are doing well it is just the 4hour feeding that keeps you going!! All went well and we all had toast and coffee at about 1030 the rest of the day was spent on general work around the farm. Tuesday It is a hot day and we just did the essential work and then pottered, George got the weeds for the pigs Lily did some cleaning and the day went well. Elena was on the computer trying to sort out the university set up she wants to do and has decided to study in Constanta. This will save all the travelling to Bucharest for next year. Wednesday And it is a change in the weather down to 19c and feeling cold after all the hot days we have had, so much so, that we put the heater on in the caravan. Then it started to rain and things went down hill with a thunder storm and high winds which took the roof off of an apartment block in Basarabi and part of our awning roof was bent up so a quick repair job for now but a new roof next week. Thursday Still colder and wet so all work was inside today
Friday Weather back to norm hot and humid so it was outside work today clearing the front of weeds and a general tidy up. Friday evening is Kids Club and the first one Elena has had on her own so I left them to it and only went out if we had a problem. That was only one small fight with the usual lad so he was sent home and banned until next month. Then the rain started at about 1130pm and went on all night.
Saturday A wet start to the day and Gorge has given Murry a bell for his collar so now we have this ringing whenever he is on the move (don't think it will stay on long). George and Lily only work mornings on Saturdays so I will be doing the feeding for the weekend Not a lot going on around us, people are waiting for the ploughing and then planting the over winter wheat but it is a bit early for that. So all the best and bye from Siminoc
Hi Jacquie here. They sound as if they have been busy over there. I have been catching up with all the news, Mum and I didn't stop talking Monday. Mum in herself is doing well but the operation was not the success we had hoped for and the operation on the other eye has been postponed for the foreseeable future. Mum has friends with her for two weeks now so I am free for talks and to catch up on some English paperwork. So I think that's all the news from Siminoc and Chandlers Ford this week ... So we'll say cheerio for now ...
Best Wishes, Sian Aubry
